44 mill aint going to cover much in the way of hardware and implimentation. To put it into perspective (from the company I work for) the device your ADSL connects to at the ISP side of things, cost upwards of $400000.. we have 4 in Perth alone. There are a lot more devices than this between getting you online and browsing, but just goes to show that the cost is not going to be 44 mill unless its all centralised via the gov/acma (which will make it slower). If the ISP starts forking out for equipment + dev time, take a guess who will be footing the bill, us the customer As for teh false positives - I brows to ~ 20 different sites in a day. That means atleast 1 would be incorrectly blocked. I think the most common phrase from helpdesks will switch from "turn your modem off, then back on" will change to "You can blame the government for that site not working"

That's why we've ignored every email asking for volunteers. Most of the big ISP's (bigbong/optus etc) have all declined the trail too.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

20 minutes? Try an hour and 40 minutes!

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.
