lol whats everyone freaking out about? Its JUST the accessory belt pulley for the A/C. Just bend the bracket out a bit, loosen the tensioner and your done. This has NOTHING to do with the timing belt. Even still, its an EJ22, broken timing belt is nothing, just fit new one easy.

12mm bolt wasnt tightened up at all. caused the pulley to flop like a cock in the sock and wear through. Or the bearing inside the pulley failed. Simple 5 min fix!
Nothing to do with timing at all.. just will loose the A/C
You cant over tighten the crankshaft bolt at all.. even a 3/4" rattle gun wont strip it.

my bent front crank shaft and harmonic balance do more dancing then that on idle...
