Jeez this thing looks clean Mark.

Can't wait to see it in the flesh.. (I'll show you mine if you show me yours??) :P

Always fixing someone else's dodgy work.....

Yep, but at least you know it will be right.

Its already been decided to stay with hub caps and white walls and there will be no mods other than air ride.

Other than low it will be stock in appearance.

I LOVE THIS BIT!

I just wonder if there's a Chev equiv to ImportMonster.

There are these guys...  https://www.yearone.com

On another note, just bought a Nutsert kit  :)  All the interior trims, etc that screw in will be getting Nutserts instead of just metal screws into the body. There's a few screws that are already loose as the hole is damaged over time / use. This way everything will be secured properly.

I did the same on the Ford, works really well.

Just make sure the nutserts are tight Mark, we used to use them while making 1000V boxes at work and every now and again one would spin when trying to do up a bolt. Test run every one you do, cos once you start bolting up the trim it won't be pretty if one spins once the trim is inbetween the nutsert and the bolt.

Yep.

I found the steel ones bite harder than the aluminium ones, plus the thread does't wear with repeated removal/assembly.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

They have multiple websites and companies of a similar fashion, it's a case of how much do you want to spend. These days you can pretty much build a brand new '32 Ford, '57 Chev or '69 Camaro if you really want to. And then there's modern Corvette chassis swaps, crate motors, the sky is the limit. When you're modding a car that everyone else has been modding for several decades there are plenty of options out there. The difficult part is knowing where to stop.

We have a complete 30's Chev ute up in Qld, no idea how useful it would be, panels are ok, all 3 of them :P and it's all intact, but like you say you can build one from sratch, chassis, engine and fibreglass body so easily. I guess this one would save me buying a chassis but everything else would have to be replaced. Actually think we are selling it/sold it recently, either that or the Whippet.

Nutsert kit is all steel, no alloy.

Details on said Nutserts please Mark??

Inspiration.....

Uber cool. The whitewalls really seal the deal, especially with the white top. (loose the stickers for extra uberness)

They look like early Cragar rims?? I guess that could be another direction, period alloy rims, but personally I'm into hubcaps.

Kit below. Cant comment on quality yet, but should do the job just to hold trims in place.

http://m.ebay.com.au...d=1549224929002

White top is a must. Looks so much better than color coded. If mine wasnt white I would of 100% painted it white.

I don't mind the early style surf stickers on it either. I have done an ebay search myself for 60's surf stickers. ;)

White top looks Kool and is cool and as long as you don't bolt a surf board on I suppose that's OK ;)

Please don't tub your new ride! I don't know if these need to be tubbed/modified to sit like this with the airbag kit - but for the sake of being able to easily reverse the mods you're after do not tub such a clean body!!

So many people tub for the sake of it then they try to sell as original and have lost so much money in the process.

Cheers

Typical electrician... :P

Looks so much better in the after pic.

I'm the same, dodgy wiring shits me to tears.

Wow. Just wow Mark. That looks immaculate.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.
