Just looking to replace the fuel pump of my 2002 b4. There is one selling $40 on ebay called Felcon fuel pump. Are they good?

If youre chasing a new fuel pump id be sticking with the tried and tested brands and set ups

If its a straight replacement a cheap aftermarket one might be ok...but its one area id pay a bit extra and get a higher capacity as a bit of insurance

Last thing you want is a lean out due to an under performing pump

Deutschworks make some good pumps to suit

Walbro also do a replacement pump that suit the B4's, just need to trim the plastic clip. Make sure you don't get an eBay special though, there's a lot of fake Walbro pumps getting around these days that don't perform as the genuine ones do.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

JacksGTB (Kobe motorsports) on liberty.asn sells a 65c fuel pump which pumps 265lph. I have one and its serving me well.

I had a DW65c which failed in less than 12 months. I think I was just unlucky, but the Kobe fuel pump is the same thing.

I also run E85 so I needed a bit more than the DW200. DW200 would be suitable for a stock B4 though.

DW200 isnt a direct fit into a B4, DW65C is. Im running one on my GTB with no complaints to date.

I really wish I'd found that out before I modded the fuel pump carrier to accept a DW200 :(

This feels like a silly question, but if you put a bigger pump in do you need to retune/reset ECU? Or do the injectors control the flow so you could put whatever size pump in but the injector duty doesn't change, big pump just means no starvation?

Can you change injectors without a tune? 440 -> 550cc

Fuel pressure reg takes care of any extra pressure coming out of the pump -- as you say, minimizes chances of fuel starvation due to marginal pump capacity.

Injector change needs new tune, as the ecu knows what size injectors are already there, and therefore how long to pulse them open for a set amount of fuel. Changing this size the ecu will still open the injector for the same amount of time, more often than not leading to being overly rich when going up on sizings. Which leads to fouled plugs, excessive fuel use and a generally bad time. Think if you open a 550cc injector for 20ms, and deliver let's say 50mL of fuel, change that to an 1100cc injector and the ecu is still going to open it for the 20ms, but you've just put 100mL of fuel in...
These figures are purely figurative, I have no idea how much a set injector will deliver for a 20ms spray. Just trying to explain the theory behind it.

Cheers,
Ben

I'd go with the dw300c and be set for whatever you could throw at it. And it should be a direct fit.
