Wouldn't be at all surprised Sam.

As far as I can tell, there was some sort of ECU software upgrade to eliminate a detonation problem. If the owner had run 98RON from the start it may have survived?

Also, I was looking for the engine ID in the service book and noticed the VIN was wrong. Found the correct service book so I suspect the dealer placed a service book from another car in the folder!

There was a ECU update to help, but didn't always fix the problem.
VW also released a bulletin stating that it was normal operation if you had good compression along the cylinders.

But with one cylinder down, it's definitely the ol' cracked piston.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Work was mint.

It took me 3.05 hrs to get home though.

Sydney traffic is out of control sometimes.

2hrs from Artarmon to the F3/M1.

So shit, Sydney.

So shit.

After waiting 2.5 weeks for a semi-local tyre mob to pickup my wheels from the powder coater (~1km from them) and fit rubber, I got fed up waiting, drove to Bendigo, picked em up form the coater, dropped them at a competitor, and was on my way home again with tyres fitted in an hour. For way less dollars. Makes it hard to support the independent shops when they're so unreliable.

Have you thought about moving closer to work?

Or quitting and getting a job closer to home?

Have you considered what life would be like if the Germans had won?

I once opened a door, and walked through it. I have no idea what Morpheus was on, but someone should tell him it's just a door.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

Thanks for the info Sam.
Owner (an ex boss it turns out) jist bought it for his daughter. He is going to flog it as is and get something else.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Yeah don't buy a 2010 era VW with the 1.4 Tsi .... Unless the pistons have been replaced at some point.

If the car has full dealership logbooks, he should be able to claim goodwill from VW, because it is a known problem.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Id say he couldn't be bothered and will flog it to some car yard as a trade in.

He has made some bad choices over the years: Jags, Range Rovers etc. Sees odd considering he had 4 mechanics working for him over three workshops.

Survived my daughter's 6th birthday yesterday with 30 kids at a local pool at 31°C in the shade. No one told me those little fckers are solar powered! Now I'm going to go spend the day with my head under the hilux bonnet, partially to have a break and partially to replace the starter motor.

Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.
