Nice purchase Mav. I was up at Al's the other weekend and he took off in his Gen2 with the 3l and it sounded awsome. I couldn't stop laughing, it really rips.
So get a good exhaust on it, and you'll love it.

Same figures stock, but torque is different, and to extract more power out of the 3RB is near-on impossible compared to the GT.

I achieved a much fatter midrange torque and power curve just by leaning out the A/F, and I haven't even adjusted my boost levels...

What's your point?
I believe the reason is purely financial.
EJ's are quite cheap to get power out of these days, but EZ's, thats a whole other story.

No doubt. I just wouldn't write one off without having seen it done first is all. Think they may have a wee bit of potential. Granted you wont make 11tykw@w with them, but for an NA they're quiet good. Tangcla - 3.0r will tow... 2.0t will not :D.

The 2.0T *will* tow - you'll just overheat something. :P

I'm not doubting the ability to extract crazy out of it - it's built tough - but it all comes down to financial constraints (or lack thereof).
Sure, nothing stopping me from having bought a 3RB and slapping on a K2 supercharger on it, best of both worlds, but that's going too far down the path of "don't do forced induction on a car that doesn't have forced induction to start with".

That's like seeing the 400hp Hyundai Excels - respect but meh, not my cup of tea.
