Hi all

I have what I believe to be a Gen 3 TT motor 2002 or 2003 with a Denso ECU

1X Denso

11622AG444

112200-0988

I have installed in a mid mount buggy and have what appears to be no spark or injectors.

The half cut did have a keyless Entry module, 88035-AE100 that I am not using, from the wiring diagram I have there is a link if no module is fitted, it is part of the starter motor relay.

Does any one know if there is internal security feature with in the ECU?

All help appreciated.

BTW I need to retain the original ECU for registration of the buggy.

Thanks

Glen

'1X' is the last of the Gen3 TT (D-type EJ208)

The keyless entry is separate from the immobilizer -- and the whole point is that it does need to match the ECU. EDIT - well, it does if its a decent immobilizer. But see the note on brant at the bottom.

Do you still have the immobilizer module ? Its a pretty simple 3-wire connection to the ECU, and 2-wire to the antenna in the steering column. You'll obviously need the key, too.

A dealer can reprogram new keys into the immob.

I don't know any further -- but maybe an aftermarket tune (like eculabs) can also unbrick the ECU for you?

JDM ECU's may also be immobiliser free (certainly the earlier B-C ones are) ? A second hand JDM ECU for a Rev-D from yahoo japan might be the cheapest way to go.

EDIT -- maybe this car came with the infamous Brant immobiliser put on AUDM B4's ? Do a search on brant removal, as these we're pretty troublesome and many people ditched them. I think they're much simpler.

OK I have made some progress, but no success.

Going back to basics

  • There was no immobiliser in the half cut I sourced the motor out of.
  • tested all 4 coil packs, running them up on a signal generator.
  • Tested injectors, 3 blocked replaced all 4 with new.
  • Timing belt had slipped, new timing belt fitted, compression test good.
  • Cam & Crank sensors changed, reasonable signal when cranking
  • I have confirmed the ECU doe not have an immobiliser.
  • I have tried an other ECU, from an Aust delivered B4, I know the wrecker who had just sold the motor. Tried ECU and body loom.
  • Checked for error codes, none
  • I have no ignition or injector pulses other than a single one when first cranking.
  • Double checked wiring against wiring diagram and the second loom.

I have no luck in finding an other JDM ECU.

Is it possible to get an ECU tested in Australia for a JDM?

Any other ideas welcome.

Glen

Have you looked at your ECU earthing and relays? Have you got a fuel pump signal when cranking?

I have no luck in finding an other JDM ECU.

try yahoo jp. eg: http://buyee.jp/item...tion/f178263273

this is either something really basic (earthing, power etc as above) - but I'm guessing you've checked those things, or a fried ECU.

Single pulse -- is the ECU getting a good solid 12V when cranking? Maybe power is drooping too much.
