Not a single mention of the V5 sti coupe in the background haha

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Rear blingbos and handbrakes went back together first
0x1FU9J.jpg
ay2cWJv.jpg

Then we started shoehorning the box in. Forking hell the 6 speed is heavy and big. Have to slide it in between the turbo and crossmembers and everything rather than just throwing it engine like a 5 speed. Would not want to do this on the ground
fcdL9w8.jpg
yfwwl9v.jpg
WYiZ6zX.jpg

Slight fail that we didnt notice both the engine and gearbox had a set of dowels but punched out the gearbox ones and got it in eventually
hy2aluA.jpg

Smashed the auto shaft from our race car in. Has a blown boot CV thing in the middle but just needed to get Ty home and he'll get a new one before HVC.

Started the car up on the hoist and there was a strange knocking noise from the right rear wheel. Turned out the caliper bolts were slightly too long and were grinding on the rotor. So then we discovered the weird damper things on the bugeye space take up enough slack to fix that. This was at 2am  :adam1:  :adam1:  :adam1:

Took it for a test drive and it all works a treat. The kartboy shifter bushes give a heap of NVH so it sounds like a straight cut box but its amazing

This was forked though

I'm still alive

I have also succumbed to the white gen 2 curse... (hey Aek)

Car has been sitting in the garage for like 2 years

i think since last time there was an update..

Car got the EJ257 in it - made about 280kw atw on the rollers on E85 but tuned down to 270ish for the track
that lasted like 2-3 years of Track days and abuse before it had a birthday and started to get glittery
Currently have a new built and balanced Short sitting there with about 3/10 motivation to install it haha

plenty has occurred over the last years..

but i did eventually get most of the above done..

New plans: 2022

New 257 short (same as last one with .25 oversize pistons)
some kind of 3076
Front Mount (the TMIC was good but it reached its limit)
new fuel system - probs revert to Rubber lines.. Teflon braided seemed like a good idea but fARK they are a hassle and they cause heaps of pulsing and noise.

I'll do an obligatory photo dump of the last few years shortly

Things that havent changed..
Still have no roof liner
still have an off white door

Also bought myself a bike - Triumph Daytona 675
and a new daily - B8.5 Audi S4 which has kept me happy (V6 Supercharged 3.0) with APR stage2+ and all the goodies at 284KW and 7sp DSG its actually borderline too fast for a daily
