Is there a light in the instrument cluster?  I think there is only the cruise switch lamp.

H6's with a BFM have a light in the cluster, H4's have a dual filament cruise switch, orange for system power on, green for engaged.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Did you get the cruise control set light in the dash to work

My car is a JDM rev B and doesn't have this set light on the dash, I think only the later cars like rev D had it.

Did you end up finding a copy of the schematics for the Rev B Simon? I know when I wanted the Rev C RX manual, that was all hard copy only, and multiple books. The Rev D/E was the only one covered by the electronic manual.

Oh definitely need it working for a trip like that! Keen to hear if there are any differences with the revision. From what I found, 95% of the wiring was the same between the rev C and the pdf schematics.

So far I have mounted the CC module, sub switch on the wheel and the CC actuator (made a manifold bracket).

I have all the wiring/plugs etc to sort out and connect up now. Brake and clutch switches sorted.

So I guess you could say I'm getting there.

Sounds like the easy bits. Folding under the dash doing the wiring is a *****. Probably worth taking it out tbh

I had considered doing the dash removal, not really that much extra work.

Not that much extra work, my arse.

Half the car now seams to be pulled apart.

To be fair its been 6 years since it was like this, I had forgotten how much stuff has to come off.

Plus now i have the alarm in the way, with all its wiring.

Mmmm. I don't miss that. Dash out does make for a lot of extra work. But is it worthwhile for the cruise install Simon?

Cheers,
Ben

Probs only took me 90 mins tops to get it out, so I guess it will be worthwhile.

Plus I had a few other small things to clean up in there.

If you put the cruise control box somewhere on the driver's side, I think you could avoid dash out.

Defs worth pulling the dash imo. 90 mins work to save back ache and to do the wiring nicely would be worth it

Not much free space on the right hand side.

Best just to do it the right way first time.

100% agree

Ok,

So I finished the CC install, powered up the car.

The light works and module clicks when the switch is pressed, I take it down the freeway for a test run.

It works but not very well as the sub switch needs a good clean, fitted a second hand sub switch that I had as a spare, now it works like it was factory fitted from new.

Just got back tonight from a 3K Km trip over the last 4 days, it holds the set speed perfectly and doesn't overspeed when it gets on boost.

That's awesome man, bet you were loving it after doing that many kms. Be nice not having to worry about the typical TT surging at those speeds on light throttle.

Cheers,
Ben

Yeah Ben,

It made the trip much better.

113Kmh is 2650 rpm in 6th gear, this rpm gives me full boost for those uphill sections.

No surging or over speed is a real bonus.
