Noob new car owner question...

Will lowering & rear sway barring my Impreza void my warranty?

So much for "Subaru specialists"........

When I bought my car it just had a clutch fitted (Exedy heavy duty cubt of a thing) and I noticed the main earth to the starter was not connected. Seemed odd but a simple fix.

Now Im fitting a std clutch I'm noticing the quality of the workmanship:

  • Jammed bellhousing bolt because it was too long and bottomed out
  • Broken retaining clip on the trans harness connector (nothing there to retain the connector)
  • Flywheel bolts flooded with Loctite, enough to fill the void around the bolt
  • Broken earth wire

The bell housing bolt took half an hour of careful rocking back and forth to remove it without it snapping off, plus I had to repair the thread in the block and workout the correct lengths for all the bolts. Turns out there is a ring-in bolt and another was missing.

FUCKYOUCUBTS.

How good are old cubts!

Old cubts, WIN!

I know Jase, it pisses me off too.

Subaru dealers changed my intank fuel filter. they stripped 4 of the threads on the tank.

Then a few weeks ago, I had my towbar off the car and found 2 stripped thread on the RH bar iron, Rough cubts.

Last week while waiting to pick up my car after its service at Subaru, I watched a guy in the work shop firstly spin a rattle gun on the tip of a wheel nut (which would have scratched the shit out of the chrome) then purposely drop the rim from head height letting it bounce once then correcting the second fall with his hand and it landed face down anyway ffs!

No respect or care for other people's property, disgusting.

Mine went back to Subaru for a wheel balance within 2 weeks of purchasing. Got the car back with scratches on the sideskirt from the heel of their workboots having parked the car in the rear parking lot (road-based area) while the wheels were sent away to be re-rolled. It's easy to do, it has a wide sill with the skirt, even I've done it. But I was a bit annoyed.

This joint wasn't a dealership but an independent workshop that specialises in Subarus.
If it were a dealership it would make more sense.

We have one of those here but they're pricey as hell. Workmanship is what you would expect from what I've heard though.

How good is bureaucracy..

I get an email from the TAFE I work part time at saying I have not achieved a 100% score on my online OHS induction and will not be able to commence work in 2017. I did the induction in the first week of November (institute policy is to result a student within 2 weeks) and spent 3hrs doing it with the rest of my team.

I login to find that I missed one part of one question and my score was sitting at 99.8%. Ironic that, while I was there full time, I was trained as a Worksafe HSR and sat on the Institute's OHS committee.

I reply to the OHS manager to let them know it's all good, only to get a auto reply saying they are out of the office until November 2016...

I still get emails asking to take up a position on the committee and to be a First Aid officer, despite numerous replies stating I work part time and it would not be effective.

No wonder I bailed.......
