You joined a Subaru enthusiast forum then proceeded to dump on the brand!
How is that working out for you?

And about whether you return here or not, I don't think it's possible I could care any less because of your shitty attitude.

It's working out just fine. My attitude is just fine because I got the car fixed just like every other car that comes into my business. If you look back at my original post, I was mainly trying to find out what year the motor was made. Finding a PS pump was easy.

Never did I ever dump on the brand. Just because I stated a fact about what my business has seen and you got offended by that obviously means that you have heard a lot of other people dump on the brand and immediately think that's what always happens.

Thank you to the people who didn't start out with a nasty attitude and actually gave some advice. To those of you who "Pity" my customers and assume that I was bad talking Subaru, it is those kind of attitudes that give forums a bad name.

This is an amusing thread. It did sound like a pretty nooby question for a mechanic, but I do think we left him with a bad taste in his mouth.

It's funny how Americans hate on Japanese cars meanwhile over here plenty of mechanics hate on GM, Ford, Jeep, etc. Such a subjective topic... though I think we can agree, french cars are the worst.  :sarcastic:

French cars do suck balls big time for repairs.

Couple of young blokes at work have hot hatch Peugeot's from the early 2000's.  Nice cars in their time, but they can't find parts without being gouged by the dealers or Euro distribution networks.  Strange plastic parts break that can't be replaced.

I still have a soft spot for the late 90's 205 gti

Dad actually just sold his 205 GTI, second one he's had.

Pretty much everything he needed to replace came from the UK at a premium. There's FA out here.

He traded his silver 2000 406 Coupe (nicest looking Pug in history) this year after buying it new. From memory he only had about 80,000km on the clock too. Traded it on a new 208 GT, goes pretty well!

I thought it a bit of a noob question.

I hate Jeeps and French cars.

Parents have had at least one Peugeot for the last 40 odd years, except when they had a Renault. Mum has a 308 that always has something busted on it, Dads Camry will survive a full scale thermonuclear attack.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Camrys to indeed have the ability to withstand a thermonuclear attack (at least the drivetrain if not the body)

My daily is a Peugeot 307, it suxs the balls to even do an oil change on.

Fixing anything else is just a massive head fu#k.

It was given to me with 80K on the clock, so I can not complain to much.

Would I buy one - NO fn way.
