Simple- Drive a cheap little KE Laser to work and back (in my case a bit over 300k's a week), save heaps on petrol. Then drive the B4 on the weekends and not worry about economy.
If it's broke use a cable tie.

Whats issue have you found with parts? Is it availability or price or both? I've always been under the impression that parts are reasonably interchangeable with other models, hence they have reasonable availability.

Twin Turbo black box of death being one part.
Thats just the start.

Just to reiterate what everyone else has stated; if you're after great fuel consumption, don't get a turbo, perhaps consider a non-turbo model, like an RX. Rob, what's the black box of death?

The Black box of death is the tt solenoid box with 10 hoses attached. Its scary to open and no diagrams are to be seen anywhere.

Pros They look FUGGEN HAWT!! Parts are easy to source/interchange from Liberty's or Rexs or aftermarket. Theyre unassuming, majority of people dont know what they are and are capable of. Dont attract unwanted attention from the po po. I have a number of mods on mine and easily get under 10l on the highway and around town between 10.5l and 12l (with some boosting ;) ) Much better economy with a manual and more fun too. :D Im yet to find any cons that arent expected with a 15 year old car. Edit.. Con The TT. Mines single turbo. ;)
