Sorry for my ignorance Barbs, what’s the significance of the revision differences?

Cheers

Bennie

In general or in the seating department?

In your situation with the parts you’ve got in the pic above. Is it a slight style difference that will stand out or they won’t fit (Subarus are like lego so I’m thinking it’s a styling issue). And are they a score because they’re harder to find or just “meh”?

Cheers

Well the seats i got from the wreckers are "rouched". Most importantly being AUDM the rear seats dont recline and the head rests dont fold down. This pic shows the Japs got the spicy seats (obviously) in A-C but shows the style

13.JPG

The seats i just bought are perforated and taught? idk leather, are reclining and fold down head rests. The seats currently in the wagon are actually the same just blue and black.

As it turns out they are likely to be A-C Blitzen seats after some brochure digging but they will match the front seats i have lined up (which are also most likely A-C Blitzen) as well as the D-E Blitzen seats had the logo in them.
2000.12%20legacy%20blitzen%202001model.1

Does any of this make a big difference? No but a 100% matching interior is always nice and yeah Blitzen stuff isnt exactly common so extra efame too

Correct, zero fitment differences, just styling. I prefer the perforated tbh, as it breathes better compared to flat leather in the aussie heat. Still burny hot when you first sit on them after the cars been sitting a while, but on long trips its nicer to sit on. Just need to acquire a set of black leather door cards now!

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Still no car but is apparently in Melbourne waiting for the local company to be sorted out or something.

Anyway it currently has a TD04 on it, which are junk. Was hoping to find a cheap VF or something to smash on to make it somewhat interesting but VFs are now worth $800 for some reason? Not willing to pay that much for a stock turbo I jumped on gumtree and went searching through Nissan turbos and the like.

Believe it or not i found a HKS (you know it) 2535 with a 10k km GT2871 core in it for $500.

It needs a subaru flanged exhaust housing but theyre readily available on ebay

That's an absolutely wicked good score there mate! Gonna get it retuned once you've sorted all of it out or just gonna whack it on?

Aww, the little TD04 commoner relocated to junk? That’s what could end up on the RS as I’m not going for an all our screamer boost machine. Sounds like a good score even though I’m still learning this stuff... you seem quite chuffed so it must be a good deal!

Good to hear the car is in Melbs, not good at the same time. Got your PPE sorted for its deep clean before it’s first drive??

Cheers

Ok first thing first.

Drivers door car was literally hanging on. All the mounts in the door are broken or stripped so the door card basically fell off with a gentle tug. Beneath was this lovely concoction
uhzs8FT.jpg
UQ3MwuZ.jpg
20fSDlN.jpg

All straight into the bin

Followed the speaker wire for the actuator into the car and found the alarm (which i knew it had). It wasnt installed poorly perse, just the usually auto elec standard of 3m of wire cable tied up but at least it was soldered and did work. However if anyone is gonna poorly install an alarm its gonna be me so out came the side cutters
3a9dgqt.jpg
FzjCzsw.jpg

After reconnecting everything and trying to start it, having no crank and spending 2 hours trying to figure out why. I was told by Shaz it has a clutch switch.... Clutch in and it started straight up. I thought clutch switches were an audm thing but now i know

Here is a photo dump of all the junk in the engine bay

That looks like a box of fun mate! Always the little things. Some questions:

- how does no PCV piping to the PCV valve work?
- what’s with the two cam angle sensor plugs, one for twins, one for single turbo wiring?
- random hose from the coolant reservoir, venting steam (hope not!)?
- what sort of dump pipe is that? Looks tiny!! I guess it’s probably better than the stock unit.

Sad to see the hack job on the drivers door to fit the remote locking actuator. I personally don’t like cutting the door to make things fit.

I guess the good thing in all of this is a) you have your project to work on and B) you were probably going to do something to these areas anyway.

How much of the old car will live on in this one?

Cheers

I dont think the PCV works at all lol. It idles like crap and id say thats why

The second plug near the cam sensor is a TGV plug. For whatever reason it has a GD WRX manifold loom on it

That hose is plugged, as the turbo is not being water cooled

The dump is custom. Why youd make it full 3" then neck down for the last 5cm is beyond me

Wow, looks like you've got some work ahead of you to clean that up to Barbs standard. Looks like it hasn't seen coolant for a while either, judging by the rusty lines everywhere. And that wiring is just pus. I'm surprised it wasn't blowing fuses left right and centre!
