I have McIntosh Speakers in the B4 (the stock system)

In my old Gen 2 i was running stock tweeters,
4 Pioneer Pro Series 6 1/5" speakers (around 300 a pair)
Running off a Pioneer Head Unit (with aux in)
Then i had a Pioneer 2ch Amp running a 12" pioneer sub

I have always loved pioneer for some reason (they're not the ultimate, but it all matched)

Jaycar response kevlars are best bang for buck i reckon. I have the splits in the front and in the rear i have 2 way coaxials. they both need spacers made though. then you could get a sub doofer. I swear by jaycar stuff, its cheap and awesome!

I got a JVC headunit, leading to 2 pioneer amps, one pioneer 4ch amp powering some pioneer 6" coax's in the front and pioneer 6x9's in the parcel shelf. Another pioneer 2ch amp bridged to power a 12" pioneer sub. The system works pretty good for all the music i listen to, which is a fair variety. And no im not one of "those people" who drive through the streets with music blasting, or driving around with the sub thumping in the middle of the night. Jesse

laughin, the mtx splits were around mid-range price. cost me tad over 200 on special. amped up they would sound sweet. they can take 80wrms.

I've been eyeing off their splits.

I think you may have convinced me. ;)

A Jaycar fan too but I have never tried their audio stuff.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Don't hold me responsible if you dont like it, but like i said, good bang for your buck :) I think i used some 12mm board to make spacers and hold it in the door. im sure it would sound even better with an amp too! I love jaycar, its a fun shop to look around!

Nah, sure they will be fine. I agree, bang for buck. Just after something a little better than stock. My wife thinks I turn into a zombie whenever I get a new catalouge. :D

they dropped in price recently too. $120 is a bargain for 6" kevlar splits.

What head unit have you got? We can't rightly advise what to do with your system until we know what you've got. I've got a heap of bass coming out of my system with the following setup Pioneer AVIC-F900BT HU 1 x 5 channel amp (can't remember the brand) 1 x 12" sub - Cadence slimline 1 x pair of splits for the front - Alpine R-Type 1 x pair of splits for the rear. - Alpine R-Type You don't really need splits for the front and rear, but I picked up the set for checp, so went with it. Sounds good. It's nice having 9 speakers around you! If your headunit only has 1 RCA out, then you will get pretty ordinary response if you use this to power all channels on your amp. Ultimately you want a headunit with 3 rca outs, one for each output (Front, Rear and Sub).

Stock McIntosh head unit with Focal 165v1's in the front and 165cvx's in the rear. Sounds awesome but could sound soo much better if i replaced the head unit. The McIntosh system sends most power to the front speakers which makes the rears barely noticable
