Lawns doing good, weather makes it a kent to mow tho... it's either too wet to catch or too hot to bother.

Hi,

Did you hire the edger for it? I don't really have a call for that sort of thing as I've not got any curbing. I usually just upright the wipper snipper to get an edge effect.

My place is like a jungle after being away for two weeks! Itching to get out there.

Cheers,
Nik

Doing a little reno on our 'new' place at the moment.
Not really the lawn but ill post up the progress.

Katie and I are moving into the granny flat (bring on the Outback jokes) attached to my parents place. Id rather have our own place as newly weds but it is separate and for $50/week i aint complaining.

We'll be here:

2 bedroom, bathroom, longe and a kitchen...ette. Most useless kitchen evarr!

Bought a decent one off ebay a little while ago. Only a few years old but owners were completely gutting the house for a full reno. We picked it up for $1k and Katies dad (carpo) will put in it's new home.

Outback serves it's purpose :)

Got stuck into the old one yesterday. Didnt take long at all!

New one should be in within a week or two depending on how busy FIL is. A few other bits and pieces around the flat to do but will keep you all posted :)

Hi,

In my experience, the taking stuff out isn't the hard part. Congratulations on it all though mate. Sounds like a smart setup and looks cool to boot!

Cheers,
Nik

After the honeymoon is over your place is gonna be that house on the far left.

I too can vouch for the removal/demolition being the easy (and fun) bit.... but yeah, congrats! :drinks:

Two story with a slide and a view of the fountain. Can't be all that bad.

I've got to stop going to the mower shop.
Last month left with a rebuilt mower (the 1976 Victa finally died in big way) and a few days ago it was the whipper snipper and left with another one. Not to mention the recoed chainsaw (Husqvarna rocks!).

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Hi,

Huskees are good. Wipper-snip I wouldn't get anything other than a Honda. Unless you're looking to slap 5+ hours a day on it, then I'd get an Echo. Screw replacing a Honda every six months.

You need to tell us what you got man, this is a lawn mowing thread! Pics of new beasts or website images at least!!!

Cheers,
Nik

I got me a mculloch (made by husky) wippersnipper from bunnings forget how much it was but it was cheap. had it for 2-3 years now and it never fails, bit gutless but does what I need here. good cheap one for round the house.... wouldn't tackle anything too serious with it tho.

Hi,

I've got some really wire strength grass coming through around some of the tree park areas here. Wipper snipper is NOT cutting the mustard, and it's not the ws' fault. Thing is pretty powerful. Do you use diamond line? I've tried a couple, works good, but you know, for the dollars I am not convinced.

Even the ride on is struggling with this stuff, it's so tough. It just gets knocked down, but it gets up again, it's never gonna let you down.

Pissin' the niiiight away.

Cheers,
Nik

I use that 5 point (star shaped) stuff.

Can you use blade on yours (brush cutter)? That'd be the go.

Hi,

Yer, she runs a decent blade. I just don't get the tolerance to hitting rocks/irrigation/small trees that I'd like. Just have to be a bit more careful I guess.

The star stuff works well? I've not tried it. I found the diamond stuff didn't pop out of the auto release very well either, I was constantly battling with it to pull it out further.

Cheers,
Nik

Yeah the star stuff is good, never have any prob with it coming out and I use the thickest one that the w/s will take. Irrigation would be a ***** with a blade.... used to do under the elec fence at M&Ds and that was hard enough not to hit the bottom line.
