Are you losing any water out of the header tank and the overflow bottle?
Car hasn't lost any water and there doesn't seem to be any leaks.
Could it be the coolent thermostat?

I'd say the thermostat.Car hasn't lost any water and there doesn't seem to be any leaks.
Could it be the coolent thermostat?
Is the radiator still as bit cool, or any of the pipes?
Rhys,(Buddylove) just had the same problem with his B4 and it was the thermostat.
In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

Radiator and all associated pipes were hot as usual. Water pump was replaced at the 100,000km servce so hopefully its not that.
Is the thermostat a relatively quick and cheap thing to replace?
if both radiator pipes are hot its not the thermostat. if its your thermostat top pipe will be hot and bottom on will be cold.
