Not a fan. Black mesh wheels are not my cup of tea.

and Walts- WTF man, I told you send me pictures when you put the lip on!! Poor form! :sarcastic:

Sorry mate, I forgot! I also went one step further than you and glued the end-caps back on. ;)

Walts, I left th tyres and just cut up some thin cardboard into palm card type sizes I had lying around and slotted them between the rim and tyre. I started off usig masking tape but it wouldn't stick to the tyre. I got the idea from wheel painting thread I found which I'll pos up if anyones intereted.

I didn't bother with trying to fix the gutter rash, I don't even think a wheel repairer would have bothered either haha it's pretty bad. I spent about 25min sanding each wheel and I didnt bother with the inner part of the wheel.

You'll find that painting over a gloss finish that has not been etched properly (sanding in this case), will give you herpes. As soon as any stone/rock or anything hits itll spread.

Once you have it you can't get rid of it by any pill.

I've seen people use a pack of cards to put in between the tyre and rim, which is what I'll be doing when I paint my spare my99 wrx wheels :)

Yeah I thought about doing that but I didn't think the cards where big enough, plus I didn't want to waste a deck of cards haha

I'm painting a set of spare rims this week. This thread has helped alot. I knew it was an easy job, but liked your results a lot so needed to know exactly how you did it.

I'm going for gloss black. Not too worried if it doesn't work out as well as this, but let's see.

Thanks,
Nick

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P
