Hmm Alex, from a quick read on that thread they seem to speak of the OEM spec. Exedy ones being the noisy ones ?

I've run HD spec in my box now for 12 months and not broken anything, I am aware of the risks but I know what I want, and that's the HD kit. Obviously if there is a huge noise from an inferior clutch kit I will be disappointed.

only difference is the pressure plate, with a higher clamping pressure the clutch disc is the same.

OEM has nicer feel than HD aswell, but if HD is what you want then theres not much changin you mind haha.

was just incase you were thinking it was req'd for 200kw + as mine is still on the OEM clutch after 147k with 15k being with non-stock turbo (200++)

Me too!

Got me paranoid about my clutch now.

I've noticed that it gets "unhappy" a little more often now...

Like driving in traffic for a couple of hours, and the pedal starts to feel funny.... like it looses its feel.

I think mine is starting to collect some hotspots.

6 speed and 7k sidesteps should remedy this.

Hahaha, yep. That clutch had a very very hard life. I won't deny it.

I did quite a few hard launches on that, plus a skid pan day. Well, quite a few may not accurately sum it up, but yeah, I am very surprised the clutch gave out before the gearbox.

All is well though, the big fish is hooking me up with Exedy OEM spec. replacement which might go 10,000k's if I am lucky !

just FYI this is a Subaru Genuine part with its part number stamped on it.
Posted Image

so exedy calling theirs an OEM replacement is a bit of BS as you can see that the OEM has dual springs.

got some photos of the pressure plate by any chance???

Interesting. I don't have any pictures of the pressure plate now, but it's in the car so I will snap some of it a bit later on today and let you know.

Interesting about that difference of clutch plate, wonder what the hell it is then?
