Most of you are going to say i told you so, Blah Blah....
But this is continued from my topic of BOOST ISSUES...
Car went in for a service at subaru and for them to check out the problems which ive been having.
To cut a long story short the system they connected the car with, came up with two error codes..
- One being a cam shaft sensor
- Second one being air flow sensor
To erase the problems they said i will need to replace the sensors. Cam shaft sensor roughly $700 and the other $300. Plus the service im looking close to $1500....
Is it worth replacing these sensors or leaving it and getting it tuned professionally and see if that helps?
My B4 has never been tuned too.
You'll be lucky if anyone will attempt to tune it while it's still throwing codes and I'd imagine it would cause no end of hassles (and alot more money out of your pocket) for anyone silly enough to try.
Not long after getting mine (before I found the forums or the confidence to have a go myself) I got stung... hence my advice to get aquainted with the eng bay or start pimping your GF

Cam pos sensor ****** up and was replaced with a genuine one, cost $223.63 (inc GST).
There's 2 O2 sensors in the exhaust and the front one is reffered to as an A/F sensor (in the pass side manifold) again it was replaced with a genuine one and cost $677.22 (inc GST). Yes that's right everyone $677.22 Here's one for $550
Only ever used BP Ultimate in mine (cpet 1 time I ****** up and didn't read the pump properly (they had the nozzles in a different order to my local) and put 14lt of 95 in it), but can vouch for it doin what it says and keeping the eng clean. After it died with 173xxx kms on the clock the (original) pistons were clean as.

Booked it in with Ross at cromwood auto service next fri to get them to check it out and in the mean time i will clean the sensors....
Cool, be good to hear what he has to say.
He's a top bloke, and usually he gives you the options of Genuine or aftermarket with most parts (if they are stupidly expensive)
