hey ant , could be an idea to swap the zorst from the white rx and see if your car runs better , before you sell it , if its no too much effort

Update on the situation ended up changing whole exhaust from another liberty over, with no change, changed coolant temp sensor over and just checking all the vacuum lines and then finally tried another ecu out of another liberty and now problem solved, so all along it was the ecu playing up. What are the odds of that! But very happy that the car is running fine, thanks Ty for your help

I'm Still laughing... all that work, and it was the ECU!

Just for those playing at home...

We swapped everything you could think of.. then when checked codes it just came up with AFM, because i just unplugged it to test something.
no other codes.. then on the side of the road we re-set ecu.. but within 15 seconds or so it had started flashing all clear.. never had this happen on any other Lib, usually its a minute at least of driving then constant flashes start..

anyway after trying everything possible, we thought maybe the ECU is dead.
We didn't think it was something mechanical as as soon as you got to 3100 rpm it would kick in and run fine, and it was that precise, every time, same RPM it would literally kick in and go. so we were thinking it had to be something digital.
swapped ECU, runs fine.

Who else has had an ECU go bad?
i'm thinking something has gone astray in the circuitry and it couldn't re-calibrate itself. could be as simple as a resistor or cap out of tolerance.

VN Commodores and TR Magnas used to fail all the time.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Fair enough.. i just always thought if an ECU went bad it would fail its own power on self test.. but that's probably me thinking too Computer orientated.
