So I'm getting a double gauge holder for my cubbyhole, so one of them will be boost (obviously) but I have a second blank to fill in. EGT? Oil pressure? Oil temperature? Fuel pressure?

So anyway... i think it'll be either EGT, oil pres or oil temp. Which one most useful?

So seriously... guys... which? A/F is out of the question, it's either oil pressure, oil temp or exhaust gas temp.

id go a oil pressure, that way you can tell if the engine dumps the oil all of a sudden..

By the time you notice on your oil pressure gauge that you've dropped oil all of a sudden, you're engine would be making a wondrous symphony of mechanical banging and grinding!

But by the same token, I could always notice when the oil began to loose its viscosity, by watching the oil pressure progressively drop, and when it was really due for an oil change! But yeah, not much more use for it other than that imho. If it suddenly drops to '0', you're already a goner.

So oil pres probably not so useful... oil temp or EGT then. EGT would be an interesting one to watch, I think.

In all honesty, they're all about as useful as each other.

Like tits on a bull.

You're obviously after the rice factor, (hence the defi!) so get one that makes the most swooshy needle movements.

My vote: Oil Pressure!

As stated, its a good thing to watch when oil viscosity begins to deteriorate, you can see slight incremental drops in oil pressure. The other two aren't exactly as useful in your application as the oil pressure.

The other thing I was shopping by was price :P the oil temp gauge is cheaper than the oil pressure and EGT. :D

i agree Oil pressure is the most useful out of the lot, but all those guages as we Tradesmen say its a **** factor but hey its your car.

Oil temp u dont need as who gives a toss how hot it gets same as exhaust temp unless u park your car in very dry tall grass? :D

A/F is usefull but who cares really as that only tells you how hard u are fangging it so how much fuel u are using as it be running ritch.

oil pressure i wouldnt put on as the addaptor on the oil filter never seals properlly and will leak
Fuel pressure well that also needs a hose so that is a fire and a bang waitting to happen.

But as i say oil pressure would get my vote has at least some info to it

Best money spent is on a greddy integligent info meter... FTW dosent say oil pressure tho
