He put one in the first post. It looks OK too.

I'll be buying a cheap nokia to run it, hopefully someone has or knows someone with a cheap second hand phone to suit...
You'll need one of these aswell, which should arrive to my place on thursday.

So hopefully should cost me under $200
Will be interesting to see how the iphone app compares.
And that's what you need for GPS lap timing, i'll post up data, times, and more after i've used it

Also seems to be a feature for OBDII connectivity
You can also use the internal GPS on the phone
The lap timing accuracy with an internal GPS can sometimes be relatively good, but a good external Bluetooth GPS is recommended for frequent track day use. One of the best receivers currently is the QSTARZ BT-Q818 eXtreme!
I just so happen to have one next to me

The iPhone app looks pretty good actually, my only concern with this is that you would most probably have it in a cradle on your windscreen, this is against most track rules as I think it would be considered unrestrained.
I would hate to have a nice glass iphone whack me in the face if I hit a wall or something....

no photos ATM I'm afraid.
It's mounted down where the sunglasses holder is, so no risk of hitting you in the face. Perhaps in the goolies.
If you hit the wall, then I doubt you'd be wanting to use your iphone. I for one, would be using the broken shards to cut my wrists.

I'll be sitting the phone and gps logger in the compartment above my stereo, or in the cup holder. I won't need to analyse data while I'm on the track. It'll just distract me.

You're gonna make me take a photo and shiz, huh?Do you have a thin metal bracket that goes behind the trim Alex? Like what older hands free sets used to have?

Got racechrono on the computer, its a bit fiddly to work, but you can't really complain for it being free, and once i know exactly what im doing it'll be better.
Wasn't my car obviously, Slow time due to the 0-100 time (13.18)
When viewing this graph it stands out like dogs balls why the 0-100 was so slow, the fasted 0-100 time the car did was a 5.1, and it should still be doing better then that.
And the testing wasn't carried out on a public road

The software is really easy to get started with and use when timing on the track. Putting the data on the computer to view took me a couple of trial and errors as im a bit of a n00b. But here's some of the data.
Highlighted in blue was my fastest lap. All the boxs that green are where my sector times was faster, and red because they were slower.
It becomes more obvious when i compare a different lap
You can also change from sector times, to split times and speeds through the sectors.
Another feature is this graph display that you can view, Which displays your speed in reference to where you are on the track.
if you want to get serious you can add altitude into the graph aswell.
Also you can compare laptimes, not only from yourself but from other sessions, including your mates aslong as they give you the data. Their's also the red and blue arrow on the track to show you the difference
I can't reccomend this program enough, their's so many more features it can do, im hardly scratching the surface. And all it really cost me was the GPS reciever which you could get for under $100 outside of Australia.
