Remote key

I opened my key up, but had no idea of what the antenna looked like, and there were no apparent labels or markings telling me where it was. I've had a little look on the net, searched for gen3 Subaru key remote diagram or something similar but couldn't find anything.
Just wanted to try it out and see if it did give me a bit more range. I have about 10m at the moment. So a little bit extra would be nice.
Does anyone know where I would find the antenna? Or a diagram showing which is the antenna.
Thanks
Sam

If you don't know what you're doing. Don't do it.
While that might be true mate, you can't go through life without learning new things.
Myself and others turn to this forum for helpful advise off more experienced car enthusiasts like yourself. I asked if anybody knew how to do it, if anyone has done it before and if it actually works.

It's like that video that shows someone unlocking the car remotely through a mobile phone.

uhm, this can be done, obviously you have to buy the whole system in order for it to work, but it can be done.Don't believe everything you see on youtube.

I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

No, I'm not talking about those viper alarms where you can get an app on your iPhone to unlock your car. Those are real.
I'm talking about someone in Sydney on the mobile phone to you in Adelaide, the car is in Adelaide and the car keys are Sydney, and them pressing unlock while holding the keys next to the mobile phone and it unlocking the car in Adelaide. That does not work.

If not, that'd probably be a practical option for you to consider because you know how piss easy these cars are to nick, right? Much nicer than factory Subaru remote also.

The long tracks are normally the antena. Its going to depend on the FOB itself..

Have you got yourself an alarm/immobiliser Sam?

With the alarm/immobilizers, can you use the original Subaru key to unlock and lock the car with keyless entry? Or do you have to use a separate fob?

Thank mate, that's what I was after, but which one on the top photo is the antenna?

^proven.Tried holding the key to your head? Might cause cancer but it will easily double the range apparently.
JC did it on Top Gear. So it must be true.

Good news for Gen2 owners - means they can stand 10mm off the car to unlock the car, instead of the usual 5mmTried holding the key to your head? Might cause cancer but it will easily double the range apparently.

Bad news for Gen 2 owners. Their remote is infrared, which means if you hold up to your head it will block the lens and it wont work at all.

Common practice with Commodores is to run an antenna wire up the A pillar. No need to solder, just wrap the extended wire around the antenna coil in the receiver.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I would be ignoring the key fob and extending the antenna at the receiving end.

Isnt the antenna on gen3 wagons on the rear window? Underneath the top brake light? Thatd be a bit difficult I'd imagine.
