Hey guys.

Can you all throw up some pics of where you've mounted your boost gauge / EBC in your cockpit, and why? Other gauge installation is also welcomed.

Any Suby is fine, but particularly B4 / Gen 3 is preferred.

Just throwing some ideas around.

Cheers,
Shazza

Yo Alex, are you the one who did a big job on his air vent and installed a gauge there?

Cos I've seen that a few times, just using an airvent you don't like or can afford to do with out, bit of fibre glass and some paint, and bam.

I like GT-R's mid mount system in a din pocket.

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

This is mine. Excuse the bad blurry pic, you get the idea:

Attached File  boostgauge.jpg   118.08KB   7 downloads

Prosport 45mm electronic boost gauge mounted to the top of the steering column (well actually just back from it on the cluster shroud). Small enough to not get in the way, and a perfect spot.

I've got an A piller mount with 2 spots for 52mm gauges, which will house a wideband plus oil temp / pressure (not sure which one yet - or maybe both in 1 gauge).

Drop the stereo down a notch and remove the pocket - install 3x 52mm gauges. Done.

The next one that I have done (Sorry but no pics yet, dont have a working camera at the moment) is to remove the ash tray and wala, theres another spot for a 52mm gauge. Pics coming on that one, but dont hold your breath...

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Pretty sure Tom did as well with a Defi guage, so hopefully he chimes in with his 2c...

I have done what Allpaw has done... I also have been too lazy to fill the gaps.

I believe Brendan (XXB4XX) was the original architect for this mounting method, though he had things made up to put around the gauges which made it look much more complete.

Yeah mate. One of the best mods I've done.

Here's a photo with the black cover on:

Part of my cluster red ring is out in this photo.

And here's one without the black cover on:

Also, the photos were taken ages ago, it is now sitting further in and looks more original.

Ties in with the B4 Defi cluster perfectly.

No LEDs or remote controls were harmed in the making of these photos.

I think mine's winning so far, because Alex's eboost isn't straight.

I don't like the "lose an air-vent" mounting personally. Looks good but I wouldn't want to give up my precious vents.

My vent still works completely. Can still turn it on or off with the dial as well.
