I am currently upgrading my front brakes to wrx 4 pots with the AVO big rotor upgrade.. My question is, "what is the easiest/best way to paint the raised subaru logo.. The calipers are black and i am wanting to paint the logo white.. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Cheers, Ryan..

whiteout!

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

You could always masking tape it all up, then sand the tape off the raised parts, then spray White, never tried this, and can't guarantee it but it's the easiest way to mask it, just make sure the edges are sealed, and then I can't see why it wouldn't work

its actually quite difficult despite it looking simple. I gave up when i had them on the GTB and my old housemate recently gave up trying too. He even tried masking everything and cutting a stencil out of it. Didnt work. Good luck!

haha really?? Devoed lol.. Not to sure how im going to attempt this.. i did trial using a paint roller before i sanded them back but it didnt really work.. the brissles still went past the raised lettering..

i think i might just buy some white heat paint and see if i can use my steady surveyors hand and just use a whiteout brush or something similar.. otherwise id say they be staying all BLAAAAAAACK!!!

Cheers for the inpute boys..

Paint the white first on the raised section and when cured, mask it off.
Paint white around the mask so if it bleeds you wont see it.
Then paint the red, black, gold, pink or whatever over the top of the white and the rest of the caliper.

Never tried it.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Agreed, masking tape is the way to go. :) Never tried it on calipers, but worked great on my grill :P

maybe get the lettering machined off, so the surface is flat then make a proper stencil?

Only problem I can think of is paint bleeding under the masking tape, but might not be too noticeable if at all!

that high temp brake caliper paint is like chemical resistant once baked isnt it?
just an idea..
could you paint the lettering white first with high temp white.
then let it cure, then coat letters with clear nail polish, (get missus to do a perfect job on it)? then spray whole caliper in desired color.
then use nail polish remover to get paint off from where the lettering is.

nail polish remover shouldn't take off the paint but it should cause mayhem with the nail polish causing it to bubble/peel off leaving white?

i dunno as i was typing this i thought about it more and probably wouldnt work..

surely its not that hard to do with a steady hand?
take your time, small brush, and plenty more time...
