Hi,

Wheels will be different on release car, looking at all new Enkei's.

Expecting bigger brakes on release car.

First car non turbo, a later release will be hotted up turbo.

You heard it here first, from someone that has no idea.

Cheers,
Nik

Unless its AWD, we wont be getting a Subaru version. Period.

However, with this much collaboration between the two marques, im sure the thing would have to be engineered to accept AWD at some point.

"So here we have two conflicting rumors about Subaru’s version of the sports car they jointly developed with Toyota. On the one hand, we have a report the Subaru currently code-named 216a will not offer turbocharging, not even on a rumored STI model; on the other hand, we find another report that says turbocharging remains on the agenda. Let the Internet rumor battle begin!

The no-turbo story comes from Automotive News, whose reputation as a purveyor of dry-but-usually-accurate news is pretty solid. Their report cites “Subaru officials” as the source that says the 216a isn’t likely to be turbocharged; elsewhere in the article, however, Subaru senior general manager of product planning Toshio Masuda says Subaru is an STI package among other options designed to prolong the car’s lifespan. Clearly, Automotive News did in fact speak to someone with some authority at Subaru.
The other side of the coin comes from Autoblog, who refute Automotive News’s report with word from their “own well-placed sources.” According to said unnamed sources, a turbocharger remains a strong possibility for the car. Autoblog’s record has been a little less trustworthy as of late (for example, they claimed all next-generation Porsche 911s would pack a KERS flywheel based on word from an anonymous source, an assertion Porsche went on record denying), and their description of their source doesn’t fill our hearts with confidence.

So where’s the truth here? Our gut says Subaru would be stupid not to turbocharge the 216a at some point, especially since the car’s 2.0 liter boxer four is likely to make a mere 200 horsepower or so. But our head says Automotive News’s report sounds pretty solid. So we’re gonna meet in the middle, and make an educated guess: Subaru doesn’t have any set plans to turbocharge the 216a at this point (thus allowing them to maintain deniability), but they’re keeping the option on the table. Here’s hoping they choose to go turbo."

Dude seriously, if they brought that out without a turbo, in Australia, people would laugh.....it'd be labelled a girls car...that engine bay is big enough for a twin charged H6 at least :sarcastic:

I hope Cosworth pick this up and do something with the Boxer when it comes out.

+1 to Alex, for sure it should be a reincarnation of the AE86, but with more grunt, as the AE86 was a weak as piss car, just massively throwable chassis.

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P
