Lolz N/a suby. .

Make it sound nice, make it look nice. If you wanted a fast car you would've bought a turbo suby. If you can't buy a turbo suby, look after your car and upgrade later.

Don't spend money on an n/a engine, unless its a supercharger ;)

Put the money away and buy a BRZ or WRX later.

How did you go with your upgrades judge me?

Hi Russell85,

I havent done any engine mods to my car yet, you can view my introduction thread here http://www.subyclub....494#entry133494
Basically all i have done to my car is coilovers and rims and i am very happy with my decision. I want to do something with the exhaust to give my car a nice sound, but not sure if I will even bother with a cat back or exhaust yet…..right now I am happy with it.

I know a pod filter is pointless for a N/a Car can I get anyone’s opinion in regards to a new panel filter. I have seen these two on eBay….. are they worth the money or just pointless???

I reckon the K$N is worth it, no performance increase but they are reusable.

Yeah I should have been more specific.

For the record of anyone reading this, the oiled filters will coat the Air Flow Meter sensors with a thin layer of oil, and therefore will give incorrect measurements.

And Nissan Pulsar plus many others.

WOW, i learnt heaps from this post, thanks guys, at least now if im going to keep the gen 3 ill focus on suspension work, possibly breaks, and sway bars, apart from teh obvious mods of wheels, exhaust. No point using a pod, they actually dont help the car at all, sucking it hot engine air.

And as implanted4 suggested, "best bet for a p plater, is keep everything well serviced, add your exhaust for the noise, but leave it all alone until you are legal and then buy a turbo.. IMHO your cash is better spent on wheels and suspension, which can all be swapped off for std items when you sell.." so ill probably be getting a wrx in a year or so, maybe just leaving it as is and saving for a turbo car where improvement in power is easily gained for less cash. Cheers!!

When they are positioned in the engine bay.
