Hey Mate, not picking.. but it appears there are a fair few little air bubbles, are they as noticeable in person or does it look pretty smooth and kewl?

Yeh there is a few that need attending too, simple pin and press the air out... They are only noticeable if you stare at it...

Chris, did you use a heatgun to shrink the vinyl to the curve of the surround at all?

Or just stretch it?

Cheers,
Shazza

Nice work on the wrapping Chris.

I would keep all elements in that area the same color like the STi, not do the cup holder, etc in carbon. My 2c.

Rims chop looks good, but I didnt know CS9's came in 20". :P

Thanks Mark.

I'm getting a free sheet off the carbon from a mate so if it looks shithouse I can go with black as I have plenty of that left...

I'm still undesided with the hazard button

Lol @ the CS9s... I only made them a tad bigger than the stocky xts

Fits in well around the gear stick but not so sure with the cup holder...

Cup holder was PITA to do! If I decide to go black like mark suggested I'll be painting it flat black with a coat of clear like I did with the vents

So I finally decided to changed my driver side inner CV boot and thought while I was at it I'd change my front control arms (due to broken bracket for sb link) to Sti GDA alloy control arms and a set of adjustable sway bar links over the weekend

Posted Image

All I can say big PITA! Couldnt get the ball joints to pop out at all! Tried every method I knew of that wouldnt damage the boots or thread... Then I thought f*** it one boot is already cracked so I put a wheel nut on the end of and smacked it a few times with a mallet a bobs your uncle poped straight out so i did the same on the other side with damaging the ball joint.

I got both control arms out, compared them to make sure they had the same mounting points as the STI arm and did the free caster mod while they were out.

Then I remember I had a Whiteline ALK I saved from the Lib and what do you know looks the same as the FOZ LCA mount so I figured I'd use the ALK

All mounted up.

As for the driveshaft boot, subaru gave me the wrong one! The broken one had a hexagonal shape on the cup end as where the replacement was round. As I bought over 2 months ago I couldnt return it so i did a bit of dodge for now and utilised both the broken boot and new boot. I just cut the broken and stuck it in the new so it would have a snug fit. It will do for now and as soon as I get a chance I will take it to a driveshaft place to get it done as there is no way Im getting covered in CV joint grease again. I may even get the whole driveshaft replaced with a Genuine re-cond shaft

I have yet to get wheel alignment but there is already a significant difference in handling during cornering... It is more direct and flatter up front through corners.

Grease sucks!! Glad you got it sorted but.

I thought it was a caster mod you did to the control arms?

Had half day today so figured I'd use my spare time.

Been working on a grill for a few months that I picked up for $10 decided to finally finish it... Just needed some filling some sanding and some paint and mesh all done...

Also removed my bonnet protector for a cleaner look

I went with the dark metallic grey trim colour but im not sure if I dig it... Colour code or Black?

Posted Image

You may also notice something sitting on the bonnet...

Posted Image

Picked it up for $100 from a local panel beater.

Also chucked on my CS9s... No rubbing issues at all but do need new tyres as the profile is too small

Nice work Chris, I really dig the big scoop and particularly that rear wing (Morgs you need one of these!!).

Some taller profile tyres would fill it out nicely :)
