Hey all,

Today me and a couple of the guys from SubyClub went softroading. Morgan, Chris, Steve + his mate. Lots of fun. Cars were great on those country roads! Bit of damage and we had some boggings, but that's all part of the fun...

Launching a manual in the sand can be difficult without rooting the clutch.

"Don't worry Steve, we'll get you out" :sarcastic:

^He got bogged because his tyres were poor on tread plus he lacked momentum. Good learning experience though!

I got some videos too. Will post up later....

Thanks to the guys for coming along and having a go. A good taster for things to come ;)

Was an awesome day, even though we didn't get to do all that was planned.

Sorry for holding us all up with having to fuel up. Didn't think I had that little fuel in the tank when I first set off this morning.

Here's my pics - will upload videos later :)

This sandy river appeared to maintain the same depth, but there was this little portion of quick sand right at one end. All our cars nosedived at the end there, but no dramas apart from some bent rego plates.

I gotta say the Foz did very well. That minimal front overhang really helped!

Nice one boys.

Great to see these cars being used for what they were built for.

Make that more than what they were built for!

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

^^THIS! Haha

12 minute video is uploding to YT as I type. Just watched it all and there is some great footage of river crossings, bogged Outbacks, and pretty professional recoveries IMO!

That is so cool, looks like it would've been a lot of fun!

What's all that steam coming out from the cars? Heat in the cool weather? Water on the hot engines? Or fried clutches? =P
