Just bought a 1997 Subaru Liberty Wagon RX 2.5ltr.
I am still in school and on my P's.
Im looking to do some cheap mods which will improve the looks and performance of the car.
Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Rory

A thorough service would be good, some tint, and a good clean and polish...
Then you could maybe think about rims, front lip, rear wing, leather etc..
And then when you really want To think about an engine conversion (not the cheapest of mods), look at some half cuts and good mechanics that would willingly do the conversion for you..
And cat back exhaust if you want to hear it a bit more.

Welcome to the liberty p-plater club, hahaha.
All I've done to my 99' liberty is drop it, came with nice rims, put a nice exhaust, some tints, new body kit, little bits here and there. Not much more you can do for a p-plater car.
Where abouts are you from? How old are you?
Nick.
Get out of my thread.

I think what morgs said, not much to do in your situation, HSC? and P's :S, If you got a part time job look for small aesthetics such as tint (i'll be getting ShazBangah to do mine at Morgs mech day).
Catback is good fun gives it a nice sound, Cromer Exhausts did me one for $400 has a nice deep sound but doesn't attract to much attention, and Ofc if you like your music then sound system.
If you are free on Saturday the 20th you should come to Morgans, tons of the Subyclub blokes will be there and you can see a lot of things to give you ideas.

great first car you've picked yourself up there. as already mentioned previously, rims, exhaust, tints, lowered springs, stereo, cai, strut braces, rear sway bar etc are all good places to start.
have fun with it and enjoy the car
ps: how'd ya hear about Suby Club?

Thanks for all the ideas, but all these ideas feel like they would cost a fair bit.
And with a part time job I think I'm gonna struggle paying for petrol. Haha

Welcome to SubyClub mate. I'm in the beaches too, from Newport. Drive a white Subaru Liberty wagon.
You'll have to come to the next meet man. Get some pics up of the beast.
Cheers,
Shazza
I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.

What is a Catback exhaust? Is it like the whole thing or just like the tip?

Also, I made my own short shifter using a welder. Cost less than $50 easily. Look at my build thread, or Morgans for some more ideas. A lot of which were done on the cheap.

But I won't be doing any short shift stuff as it is an auto.
