Been meaning to get my own helmet for a while now, but haven't really gotten around to it.

I'm pretty keen to buy an ALDI helmet this year for $69

http://www.lasoo.com...source=homepage

I've used Grant more times then he has ha ha.

I wanna know if anyone has had any problems with these helmets at WSID or eastern creek? Or if someone can recommend a cheap helmet that I won't have problems with scrutineers.

I don't want to go overboard on a helmet. Aslong as it meets the safety standards I'm happy.

I don't want this to turn into a $10 helmet for a $10 head debate either.

Thats an epically cheap helmet.

I would buy one of those for sure. But i would vinyl wrap it with a sick design.

Cheers,
Shazza

I dont wanna spend $600 on a helmet. For my use it's overkill. If I raced go karts or did more motorsport then I do I wouldn't hesitate to buy an expensive helmet.

I might pop into ALDI and pick one of them up.

Is that the cattledog that starts today?

Yeah brah :)

They're $10 cheaper than what I paid a year ago for mine too!

I just went and got one of these helmets at 8:30 am this morning. All gone by 8:35am. All their motorbike gear was sold out in about 20 mins. I am normally a medium in helmets but fit into an XL. The helmet is good. Comes with a spare visor and spare jaw cushions. I'd expect to pay more for it.
If they've got any left, buy it!

Hmmm might give a few stores a call after work and decide which way I'll go home.

It's still more money then i want to spend. I just don't want to turn up to or EC and be turned away, then have to fork out for a new helmet

Surely they would have to be approved to the right standards to be sold as a safety device?

i would personally suggest you spend your money one one that has the tag/numbers/sticker etc, that way you wont have any dramas. it souldnt be to hard find one for cheap.

Yeah not that I should really be putting a price on my own safety but at the moment I couldn’t part with $600+ for a helmet. I think mine was $150 or something?? I got it on sale and it’s done me ok so far. It meets Australian standards and stuff so I’m confident I’ll be ok in it.

ps: i had a look at those aldi ones the other night when i was doing my shopping and they seem to have all the relevant australian standards and adr stickers etc

Aldi helmets have as/nz approved stickers and meet all requirements.
Really can't go wrong.
