Nope. It was the same on my previous 2006 6MT, my mate's 05 6MT, another friend's 06 WRX, plus at least 2 more 03-06 6MTs I've had the displeasure of crawling around underneath.
Maybe its a non-turbo thing? Or a Forester thing? Subaru do some weird things with Foresters...
my 06 has t70 bit, a mates 04 xt fozza has it, also another mates my05 wrx has it.
