Seagate hard drive is unhappy. They use S.M.A.R.T technology (what its called, not what I called it) to predict failure in disks. It can sometimes be wrong but not really commonly wrong.

Start saving shit, just in case.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

I had a surprise when I went to Super Cheap today.

They had what I was looking for and offered customer service.

Bunnings let me down at two stores.

42 jiggerbites will take a while Niko. Just remember its a predictive failure, doesn't mean it had or will fail but its usually a good sign its on its way out.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Scares me.

I just downloaded it on advice, I'm not 'using it' as in I'm not touching any buttons, just using it's readings.

I genuinely hate computers. Seriously. If cars were this unreliable we'd all be on pushbikes.

Nik, its a predicted failure. Speedfan/corewhatever is just designed to read the hard drives in built mechanism that's checks its health, a check engine light if you will.

Its impossible to guess if or when it will fail, i think you should get all your documents and whatever off it and get the computer looked at. Hard drives are cheap these days. Seagate (the hard drive you have in there now) are a lot better these days and I'm a bit suprised its failed (or at least in the process of)

Sweet bro, thanks man. I have one of those things like the one you left here so I've backed up everything that's anything on this computer as far as I can tell. Not to bang on about it, but one more question, is it worth running the Windows backup feature that it is prompting me for?

Depends - did you buy a brand name computer? (Ie Dell, HP or something)

If you did, you would have been told to keep a bunch of cd's. See if you can find them - you're looking for a recovery disk or something similar. Means you can chuck the cd in when you get the hard drive replaced and the computer will fix itself back to how you switched it on the first time. Then you could just move all your data back.

Windows backup is more throuble than its worth.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.
