I am looking forward to cranking some more brews down when I get home.

Going to try and run two at once until the weather gets too hot.

Anyone know how to best re-attach badges? (Best adhesive to use?)

The screen door just tore a huge hole in my shoes.

Frik.

Bought them last week because my old ones also had holes in them.

I could only get my hands on a 24. I wasn't going to put this in until the new motor goes in, but my hand was kindof forced when some turbo related hose started pissing out coolant everytime I hit boost cut. Plus the fact the wastegate on the TD05 needed a bit of love (it had seized) I thought I should do this. I still don't know whether the head gasket is gone in this stupid motor or if it was just a hose playing hard to get.

Been sniffing petrol for a while this arvo while the waterlines from turbo soak in it to try and lift some of the crap from them.. Unbelievable. Subaru want $188 for the metal water fittings on the turbo, and they don't have any in the country, nor do they have the bolts and washers that hold the water pipes on to the turbo. Awesome.

Morgan. If you wore thongs like Shaz did you wouldn't have that problem.

You already have holy feet, right?

Hahhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaa...........

Thats hectic.

My car has been hitting boost cut in cool weather. Any ideas on how to remove it?

Or do i just have to turn the boost down? :(

Thongs > Shoes.

Few options.

Get electronic boost controller, that wins at life and more effectively controls your boost levels and helps prevent spikes. Watch womenz fl0ck to you.

Turn boost down and watch womenz leave you.

Fit one way valve so ECU has NFI at boost levels and then turn boost up even more (more womenz).

Replace ECU with aftermarket ECU and then turn boost up and win.

One way valve in the line between the MAP sensor and the boost controller.

Get a P20 for that VF24, homosauce. Do it or I'll send pandas over to molest your pillowcase.

Also - be fookin careful with petrol on rubber fittings OR fittings that have rubber hoses go over them as they'll normally break down much quicker and crack/swell and weep coolant. THOROUGHLY clean off anything you've washed in petrol, dude.

Boost control is being run using a turbo-smart t-piece - No ECU input required.

I put that other ECU i got off Aek in, but it hits boost cut at 15psi and makes car run rough, so binned that and put standard one back in. 20psi, no dramas.

Definitely need an electronic boost controller. Its only when it hits 21psi does it start hitting cut.

Would love to get p20 yes.

Yeah the metal hoses have seen MUCH better days, I have to re-use what I have though. I have been ramming a screw driver in to the openings as they have literally been half filled with crud. Trying to lift all that with petrol, degreaser and whatever else I can get my hands in - anything you could recommend to put on the metal lines before rubber goes back on them ?

No, no you don't need an EBC.

You need a one-way valve from an acquarium store in the vac line between the MAP and the factory boost controller.

Will give that a go this weekend mate. Cheers.

I would prefer a EBC though anyway, as they are easier to adjust boost, and make it so i don't have to run 20psi all the time. Especially coming into summer. Might have to look a bit more serious into that CryO2 kit.

Ok - get a few metal skewers or large cable ties. Ream the pipes with them to free up whatever is blocking the pipes.Throttle body cleaner in a pressure pack is one way to free it up, otherwise you might have to get the pipes hot tanked or cleaned in a parts washer (which normally uses kero).

Clean up the pipes with a bit of throttle body cleaner + paper towel before you fit em too. :)

Dylsauce, goto Autobarn, and see if you can get the stuff from "Kenco" called "Shift-It"

I use that to remove tint. Its an industrial bug and tar type cleaner. Spray some of that to remove crud.

When i spray that on tint glue, it makes it jelly and you can literally wipe it off with your finger after about 10mins.

Lotsa info on RSLC for the OWV mod, moit. Also, Those Cry02 kits didn't do that much when we tested 'em for a magazine story a few years back.

Running less boost is only one way to avoid blowing your motor. Even if you turn the boost down you'll still have a lot of timing and hot air and fuel going into your motor at WOT, so the best way to avoid grenading your motor over summer is to drive like Miss Daisy when the temps go +30psi - especially with a V3 STi motor/ECU (which run more timing than comparable WRXs/earlier STis).

Wurth Throttle Body Cleaner is what I'd be buying :)

Yeah Marv I am not fitting anything until at least tomorrow anyway, have just taken all parts out of petrol and have had a nice deposit of dirt at the bottom of the container. One of the water bolts (holes in it to allow water to pass through) had 2 of 4 holes completely BLOCKED by crud, had to jam a screwdriver to get that shit lifted. The water lines are in real bad shape though, fitting new rubber hoses to them but will have to replace them as the metal has / is being eaten away. Will attack it all with cleaner before shoving all back on though. Still waiting on a call from Subaru.

Marv I got some crap to clear off the back of the car from under the badges too, which I think is what Shaz was talking aboot.

Can vouch for this. Rach has to bring weapons when I drive my car to fend of womenz!
