its a air flow metter, and errr you can remove it with out doing other work to the car (replace the ecu and add map sensors to manifold), i assume your thinking about doing a cai?

air flow meter addaptor plate (bolts when to the air box side), pod filter of that or run the pipe work behing the fog light in front bar, 90' off throttle body, etc, just bits one togehter out of the intercooler bends and silicone hose bends from super cheap.

look out but, ive been told the oil cleaned pod can distroy the airflow metter and then if left can cause damage to the motor, somebody correct me if im wrong.

Too much to explain.

Take home message: Leave it alone.

Don't put a pod filter on it.

Just change the air filter if you're up for it. Cheaper/easier/better flowing/won't notice any difference on an NA or turbo.

Else there will be a world of pain. And if you break the air flow meter (AFM), they can be costly to replace.

Does that white wire have a fuse near the battery?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I'd slash my wrists if my under bonnet was in such a state of disarray.

It's a shambles.

Fix it.

Where the hell is that white wire going anyway?

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Stalker much?

I had no choice but to abandon air box. But if I did have a say in the matter, I would have retained it.

LEDs?

I am a big fan of the standard airbox, the airtract that comes after it is far more restrictive than any airbox would ever be.
