I'll add my 2c - CV boot has split/torn and is spraying grease on the exhaust/motor.

Yea that shit stinks, but that's the only problem I've had with my Gen3 RX. It normally sprays concentrically to the tear in the boot
If its the rocker cover there will be oil all around the same side of the engine bay down onto the x-member.

thanks, there isnt any noise when i turn, so thats a plus

Well don't waste any time then, and repair it.

The longer you leave it, the more likely it is to get damaged.

Yeah it may have been steam,
Heres some pics of what i think is the CV boot? As its like a boot....on the CV :D . The front left seeing as it was coming from that side, it doesn't look damaged?

I reckon it was a coolant leak somewhere.

Also, the outer boot is not near the exhaust.
