Audm SG Foresters had those subs as an option on XS and XT's when you ordered the premium sound package. A mate of mine ticked that box when he bought his XS. He's a muso, so a decent system was important to him. It sounded pretty good too for a factory set up.Mounting amps, subs etc in a wagon can be a pain.
I'm running slim subs under both my front seats so they're out of the way. They have copped a slight kick here and there but its all good. JDM Legacy's had subs built into one of the storage compartments in the rear cargo space (probably Foresters too). AUDM missed out on so much...
Morgs that grill looks brilliant. Aim for that! (minus the STi badge)
Wow! That's really wedged in there isn't it! Nice find Morgan
Sig worthy.

Under the seat
-Out of the way
-Harder to install
-Harder to adjust settings
-Gets in the way of feet AC vents
-Passengers kick it
In the cargo area
-Right there in the way of everything you do
-Has to be screwed into something so it doesn't jump around = unnecessary holes (that's what she said) in sub casing/rear seats/interior panels
-Pain in dat ass when you need to take everything out of the cargo area to load it up (the reason we buy wagons)
-Easy installation
-Easy to adjust settings
Mine is currently in the cargo area too.
What about under the seat, attached to the seat and moves with the seat?
This way it will be out of sight and wont get kicked by rear seat passengers.
I always thought amps were set and forget.

Thoughts on this are the same as Jase, i havent touched the controls on my amp since I installed it in my last wagon. So thats a non issue. Under the seat is out of the way and no cables.
But also, in wagon area, i did this:
Amp mounted

And I was sick of my sub and amp sliding around in the boot. And I NEVER screw things in my car if i can avoid it.
So i made hooks that the amp is attached to and then hooks under the carpet board in the cargo area!

Has held for years!
Works good, but im sick of it being in the way, so I want a small one that will be mounted stealf in the cargo bay, or under the seat!
Edit: LOL, BO$$

Has anyone used solder splice terminators before?
http://narva.com.au/...e/solder-splice
No, but it looks like something I could use in my life, if it doesn't cost much more than solder/heatshrink. Which I have a lot of around the garage atm.
