So what do the managers actually do?
Obviously not staffing and timetabling.

They make the roster each week, and essentially, you, or someone else who is as capable as you in your position (not too easy to find if you are one of the few people who have been there as long as i have) MUST be there for every shift, or you dont have a job anymore. NO ACCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER. (e.g. a girl got fired because she didnt turn up on her 18th birthday)

I hate my job, its seriously like a factory.

That's illegal. If you have sick days owing, it does not matter when you take them. Legitimate sickness is not grounds for dismissal even if it occurs on the busiest day of the year.

If you were fired with sick days accrued still owing determined by the day of the week, it would be unfair dismissal.

yo man do not go work in a pub. shit pay, worst hours (when every1 is partying).. Do your self a favour and apply at clubs.. slightly higher base and you should get overtime, penalty rates, unless some random pub your lucky enough to find has all that stuff, mine doesnt. still got paid the normal amount on Christmas day night or eve or whichever one it was....plus 15 bucks tips for 11 and a half hours work.. fork off.
