I love e30s. Ill do a detailed pm answering a few of your questions wjen im not on my phone. Dunno what alex meant by me being unhappy with them? I love them!

In short you have a 323i high comp head on a 2.7 325e bottom end. Like putting a 2.5 block under 2L sti heads.

Get a Bentley Manual and have a go yourself. Theyre incredibly easy to work on.

Dont buy ANY parts from bmw oz. They are infamous for overcharging by 300%. Get them from the us. Talk to Steve @ Blunt Tech. He aells a huge amount of parts to oz

Any tips Alex to owning an E30?

dont take it to parra prestige. Take it to Mark Kuok at Motorworks. Its a drive to get there but worth it. Youll shit yourself at his cars. He is THE E30 specialist in sydney and the only mechanic ive trusted with my e30s.

Morning all.

A few pages back someone posted a pic of a Nissan Juke-R.

Its basically a Micra shell, fitted onto an older GTR subframe.

E30s, as much as I do love them (not as much as E36s.. :P) I reckon are more project cars, rather than a daily.

I guess it all depends on how far you'd want to take it.

But the car you have appears to have its mechanicals and body sorted.... so just cruise that sucker!!

I enjoyed working on BMW's, everything seemed to be put together nicely and come apart in a logical way, this is probably pure luck but I never seemed to have any ceased bolts etc.
Last BMW I worked on was probably 5 years ago now (how time flies) I did the oil pump on it, I don't know why but I just enjoyed the job.. was only a 318i but still fun to work on.

No worries. Get yourself onto R3vlimited.com it's an American E30 site but it's full of info about these things. Just be warned that American and Australian E30s are quite different, mechanically and cosmetically. You can source lotsa tasty bits from the US, though. :)

E30s, as much as I do love them (not as much as E36s.. :P) I reckon are more project cars, rather than a daily.

Agreed... to a point. They're fine to daily locally, hell i drove mine 1200km a week! Like an RS Liberty, they're best enjoyed as a weekender, IMO. However, nothing wrong with AussieTemplar's one - 2.7 is nice and torquey, four doors is practical and its not going to send him broke with running costs.
