After looking at the design of a BCS (brake cylinder stopper) I though it would pretty simple to make my own and save a few dollars.

I have all necessary materials and tools on hand (at work ;) ) so i got stuck into it after taking some measurements of my wagon.

Used some 6 X 25mm flat bar for the horizontal section, bent an offset into it, drilled two holes, one for attatchment to the panel, the other to clear a 10mm bolt. Welded a nut for the bolt adjustment and added another to lock it.

So far.........

Ive now started on the vertical section that mounts behind the proportional valve.

It gives you a more solid brake pedal feel as it stops the firewall from flexing when you apply the brakes firmly as the booster is mounted to the firewall.

Zero dollars. :D Actually work paid me to do it ;)

Nice one, be keen to see the finished product as right now it's not doing that much for you until you put the brace on. Keep pictures coming though, would be worth putting into the DIY section when completed I think. Regards Paul

Thanks,

That pic of the bar mounted was only for illustration only purposes. It'd do pretty much stuff all like that.

You cant buy what costs nothing to make. :D

I "may" be able to make some more up, see how this one turns out first.

In all honesty, theres really not much to these. Im interested to see how you go about yours. :)

Phase 2 complete, the vertical support that mounts behind the proportional valve. This was made using 4 X 50mm flat bar with the holes measured off the bracket for the proportional valve.

These two pieces will be welded together. I think its a bit more solid this way than having them bolted together. Then a triangular gusset will be added between the vertical and horizontal pieces on the master cylinder side.

Powder coat them too mate. They'd charge what, $20 for 2dozen. It looks better and is more durable than pain as well.
