A KEMPSEY man who let a 13-year-old boy drive his car because he was too drunk has been fined $850.

Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who told them he did not have a licence, was only 13 and was driving because Edwards was too drunk.

The boy then told officers he had smoked between six and eight cones of marijuana at a party and had also been drinking.

While police were questioning the boy Edwards got out of the passenger seat and urinated next to the car.
Police asked him why he had let the boy drive to which he replied “I’m too drunk … so I let him drive, so it was safe”.

Dominos Pizza’s employee Ian Hay, 29, was attacked by three armed hooded thieves while he made deliveries in Leith St, West Kempsey about 9.15pm.

“I parked my scooter in the driveway of one of my orders but when I went to the second house they said they hadn’t ordered pizza. I just thought it must have been a hoax call.”

Mr Hay had returned to his scooter when he heard voices calling out to him.

Three youths aged between 16 and 20 years old with hoodies and balaclavas on approached him.

“I thought I had seen a way out on my scooter between a tree and the house but when I got closer there was a steel fence in the way,” he said.

“I crashed and my right foot was wedged under the scooter. They all came running in and smashed me with cricket bats in the head.”

The trio then fled with Mr Hay’s float of a small amount of cash and the hoax pizza order.

I don't understand how you could think that letting a drunk and stoned 13 year old drive is safe?........... bullet to the head would have been just punishment in that instance, can almost bet that it would save the tax payers money by not having to fund another bludger.
