There'll be two knocked up partners there so Grandad will be all over Alisha again measuring her hips for child birth potential and reminding her that he wants a boy so the name can live on - I'm the last bloke in the family with the 'right' last name as far as he's concerned.

Fair call. Rach's mum has claimed Xmas eve dinner. Xmas day breakfast and lunch. And already tried to claim the same for next year.
I have a feeling going abroad for Xmas may be easier than having to deal with that!
I'm very lucky with Alsiha's family. VERY lucky. Her nan lives about five minutes away and her mum works five minutes away, lives about fifteen away. They are super chill about us going up to Perth and spending a bit of time with them either side of Christmas.
It's funny, my Auntie/Mum(not the same person) make a big bloody deal about family 'coming together' and shit, but we don't see each other outside of Christmas. One argument there is that it makes it special/important to have the ritual catch up over the holiday period, but for me, I think it would probably be a lot nicer if it was like
"How's that thing we were talking about last week when you came to see me going?"

My side has entire extended Italian family, or mums side which is about 10 peeps. Which we only see at Xmas.
Her mum makes a massive deal out of it.
My mum says, you gotta do what you gotta do!
Go figure!
I just like the Xmas ham!
And to be honest I still love Xmas, despite the hassles.
