Floating floorboards are wooden...

But it will be floating as opposed to solid floorboards.

It's a first house bro, I'm not building a Posted Image'ing palace.

Fireplace will be a different stone to that - again, same as what we used in the cafe...

Ahahaha "Niks Palace"

Yeah we sell a lot of the floating floorboards at bunnings some look pretty decent quality, others are MDF with laminate and are dodgy as all ***** LOL.

Ahh I get you.

In that context, these would be 100% solid floorboards. They are T'n'G, but it's 100% Marri, not a laminate hybrid or anything.

Floating floor boards are nice, but so are real timber floor boards, but it really depends on the house

I get confused when someone says 'floating floorboard' to me, because we batoned the cafe floor out, so they are essentially 'raised floorboards' like what you'd find at a basketball court - 'sprung' almost. But they are 100% real wood rather than one of the artificial finishes.

Ten years ago I'd say someone was a bit naff for using laminates and the like, but some of the brands/products have come an amazing way to get where they are. With that though, if you go for the top tier laminate style products in say the kitchen - you're going to be paying for it!

There's a couple of other houses that look cool in the range. I'm meant to be display homing again today, but I think my mind is made up. The plot drawings are done - I love how they do the drawings for free and then try and use it as pressure "well, the drawings are done now!" - yes dickhead, because YOU did them for free without me asking you to, otherwise, they'd not have been done.

They make the whole thing very stressful - which is why it's taken me so long I think.

I find the dollars and cents very intimidating, considering I'm already pretty deep in the hole just from buying the land!

SHOULD have done a house 'n land package.

Yeah I should have said in the first post Laminate vs Solid Timber LOL. because you are right, Floating is the method of installation ie. raised whereas the other can be the same material fitted directly to the substrate (like the slab). I would go solid timber over laminate any day of any week, I just think that the laminate always looks and feels a bit cheap in comparison.

I hate Lynx, such a rip off.

I think it's a combo of my awesome man scent, and washing powder.

Also I've been intensely carnivorous for a few days naaoooo.
