I was in the same situation approx 6 months ago....

To sum up i installed BC Coilovers and i have never looked backed.

I use my car as a daily drive and travel approx 100km each day round trip to work and home.

Pros:
-Exact ride height to the mm and takes approx 1h max to change your cars height depending on what equipment you have (Very helpfull if you have wide rims/tyres)
-Dampening Settings are a big + as it take 2 mins to change your car from soft to hard, and if you have your car on the softest setting, the car feels close to stock, I personally have it 3/4 hard cuz i love the harsher ride = more of a sports car & +++++ on handling

cons:
- there are some roads in sydney that you will hate but to me the pros easily outweigh the cons

I cant really say much about the springs option, however if you do install lower king springs you will get a harsher ride then stock and your limited to 2 ride heights, Low or extra low. Also from memory I was quoted about $600 to supply and install new king springs only, im not too sure about the struts…….

Hope that helps

Mega lolz at coilovers being too stiff. Its called adjustable settings people. Change them!

I had/have Cusco zero 2 coilovers. Frank compared them to the suspension in his old MY99 WRX. Alex might not be able to remember them but they weren't bouncing or jumping at all when we left that servo many years ago.

Isnt there street coilovers designed to appeal to those who want comfort over maximium stiffness?

Anyone have any BH lowering springs they want to part with. I desperately want to buy some.

From my feedback on other forums regarding the BC BR's and even the Pedders guys, they're an excellent coilover for the price with a good ride achievable.

You really need to assess want you need them for. Doing track work? Want to go SUUUUPPPPER low? Just to obtain that perfect USEABLE height? Just cruise around and dont flog it?

So many different needs/opinions. WHAT DO YOU require them for?

I have some. :)
But unfortunately I am not looking to sell them.
I LoVE my Tein type Flex coilovers. I have them as low as they can go. I've fitted wider tyres and had to roll the rear guards, and have been running on the hardest settings for the last week.
Even travelled to the gold coast from Coffs and back over the weekend on the hardest setting and although a little bumpy, was still quite comfortable and will be winding them back to soft as soon as it stops raining..
I had pedders sports Ryder springs and stock struts before these - they sucked gash.

I highly recommend these coilovers.

I require a well priced, reliable replacement that's going to last alot of k's (do at least 40 000k a year) and something that gives me a good ride height

Maybe they have half an inch left.. The rear is pretty much sitting on the bump pad things and I'm yet to take the lifting blocks out.

Oh yeah outback, duh....you need to be lower to account for the lift blocks lol... Man your control arms n stuff must be on a hectic angle?

Bump pads...flexes have bump stops as part of the strut...most people cut the bump stops down ;)

Yeah the back wheels have so much freaking camber, looking from the back the wheels look like this -> / \ haha
And I have just never gotten around to replacing/shaving the bump stops.
Gotta take the vehicle to a mechanic/muffler place tomorrow to put my varex on (thanks Xon) so might get him to cut them neatly..

Then next step is taking the body lift out and maybe have to roll the front guards haha

they sucked gash.

That means they rocked in my book.

If they sucked balls, thats a different story.

Gash is awesome and deserves a good sucking. :D
