im not comparing GTR's to B4's, i guess what im gettin at is twin turbo cars are possible to make and make well. i think they gave up a bit early on the B4. altho iv never driven a twin turbo id imagine the benefits of having two different size turbos for quicker spool and more constant usable power far outweighs the VOD. put simply they didnt want to spend the money on it, i think they definatly could have made it almost perfect
They pulled the Twin turbo system due to tigher emission standards. Thats why all manufactures pulled their TT systems from the market at the same time in the early 2000's. For example, Rx7, supra, legnum, gtr34, etc.
Only reason that Subaru is going with the awd platform this time is because the car is a Toyota/Subaru collaboration. If they went the additional AWD stuff, the drivetran and chassis would probably need extra tweaking.

It will be interesting to see who actually buys these when they arrive. I know a few people that are keen, but not off the showroom floor. I'd give them a couple years to settle in and more mods to become available.

Hi,
The interior is a lot better appointed than on the Toyota though, and I believe things that are considered options will be standard on the Subaru.
Just things I've read on the net, no real knowledge!
Cheers,
Nik
Looking through the Feb issue of Top Gear Australia, looks like the interiors are virtually identical. If anything toyota is slightly better with carbon fibre dash inserts, subaru has silver ones (in this article)
Scanned pictures for everyone, note, they are quite large images. http://s251.photobuc... BRZ and FT 86/

A subi is:
- AWD
- left of centre
- fun to drive
- last forever
- safe (but fast)
It doesn't qualify as a subaru period.
Go out and hire some good marketing types for subarus' sake.

It's not a subi - put another badge on it Nick Senior - why can't you guys see the bleeding obvious? Another Tribeca joke coming up.
A subi is:The BRZ possibly only meets the last point and only partially (safe - and that is because of ADR) we don't know if it is fast - fun to drive - don't know that yet, last forever - its not a subi why would it? left of centre - no it's an RX8 or something - AWD? no RWD.

Subaru make quite a number of cars that aren't AWD. Just because Subaru Australia don't sell them does not make them any less of a Subaru.
I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.
It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

I'm saying the top spec, optioned up Toyota, will be what the base model Subaru interior holds. That's what I'm hearing from Uhmerrikkerr anyway.
We'll have to wait and see what we get over here!
Cheers,
Nik

Will be interesting which each offers for the interior.
Hope the supercharged TRD is bought over.

This guy ^
??
This isnt some dorky 90's badge borrower. The car is predominantly Subaru DNA.
Heres some insight about a Subaru i had that doesnt really tick your boxes up there, so does this mean it WASNT A SUBARU!?
Yes it was AWD
Left of Centre? No...
Fun to drive? It was a pig!
Last forever? If by forever you mean about a month, then yes.
Safe? Certainly not.
