Yeah it's meant to have those weird tubes on the intake, they're there to reduce intake noise.

Is it possible it could be your power steering pump?

Well, that's what alex thought a completely separate noise was at mechs day. Any way of checking without replacing?

Power steering pump wouldn't whine only under engine load. Since it's belt driven, all it sees is revs, regardless of throttle position.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

I can't hear it at low revs. But its not like it just appears at a certain level. It gradually fades in.

you coming to hooters next week mate?

everyone is pretty much suggesting blind here. A lot on things can make a whine sound. If you read through here the thread, diff, stereo, power steering and air intake are all mentioned and all VERY different. I may as well suggest rear windscreen wiper blade.

Without hearing the sound it’s near impossible to tell you what it is or what you’re talking about exactly.

Bring it to Hooters, show some people who may be able to diagnose it for you, fix it, N/A away…

N/A? There's the problem. Motor needs replacing.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

While the government's doing a lot of whining, it's definitely not localised to your engine bay.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.
