don't bother getting a new dump made up, get a second hand wrx fitment and get it modified (mounting points) will be a lot cheaper

Not true, Shaz. You've gone from an NA to FI motor (and an EJ20K, not the TT EJ208 the Gen3 Legacys had)

Iain, is it actually possible to tell the generation of an EJ20 conclusively without decoding the whole engine number? Surely they couldn't look at an engine number and say with absolute certainty "yeah, nah mate this is an ej20k, B4 only had an ej208"?

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Engine number length doesnt match for one. Can provide difficulties when fitting a late model motor to early car.

Short motor is ok - no differences for emissions but complete long motor can send them over the edge.

a new dump pipe will only cost me the price for the mandral bends, my old man is a nut case when it comes to building cars, (builds race cars for a living) he has the skills to make one from scratch and has befor.

well, over the weekend abit got done to the wagon and i didnt even go near it (apart from a test drive with dad). as some of you no, i was saying at the cruise that i was going to go home to and fit my new brakes but when i got home i found that dad got bored and did it all for me for some reson. also all the pipe and bends turned up so the dump pipe is getting welded up on the weekend so probs looking at next week for the bluey and engineres certs (if needed)
will post up pics asap but she is looking good.

cheers

had a look the other day when i was at the wreckers and the b4 they had out there, it was under the rear bar/ 1/4 panel on the drivers side rear of the car, small black box.

another week as a poor man, and more parts for the wagon, there is now a pwr fmic sitting in my room and as of this arvo ive lined up a set of legacy hid headlights. also the kicker sound system from the impreza will be going into the wagon verry soon. i also moved the boost gauge last weekend as it was giving me the shit where shaz had it. when i was doing the new vac line i wasnt to happy with cable ties holding it to other lines and the like so i made some brakets up to keep it clean.

and yes, that my fmic on my bedside table hahaha.
