Hey.

Just hit 95,000kms and due for another oil change and thought I'd do the UEC as well. One question, where do I spray it?!

just to the left of the alternator, take off that line off the back of a plastic black valve, and spray it in there. can be disconnected doesn't affect way car runs (as long as not left off permanently)

Pretty sure spray it into the metal elbow to the left of the red plug located centre of picture. but becasue it wont spray with the can upside down, best to get some vacuum hose the same dia as the on thats there and use it as a feeder. i forgot this fact so used a maccas straw i found in my car.
Also morgs there is a diy on ozfoz for it but would also expect the same process on most, if not all, subaru.

That's where the boost gauge is T'd into. Does that matter or should I pull it off the T instead of the manifold?

I've also heard that on turbo models it should be sprayed into the throttle body? Thoughts on that?

all the ports are fine to spray into, the one i mentioned is by far the easiest and most convenient to spray while car is running.

This may be a captain obvious point, but you do know to spray the UEC BEFORE you change the oil, and not after.

I always spray some on the throttle body as well.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

All over the plate and the bore it sits in.

If its really dirty, I use an old toothbrush to give it a scub.

A good point to bring up though Alex, easy enough for someone to forget, the more that people read this, the greater the chance they will remember :D

I am going to do this either next week or the week after. Not that I have really done the K's (about 3500 since last change) but I have had it over a year and I change the oil every 6 months regardless.

I am guessing it will blow decent smoke rings? God knows how long it has been since it was done. I would say the service before I bought the car, but that is only an assumption.

From my personal experience, I've found that the more you use UEC, and the younger the engine, the less spectacular the smoke show is.

I agree Alex. I promised Adam an awesome smoke show when we did his, and it barely blew anything!

Mine still puts on a pretty good show!

I'll GoPro mine in case there is a good show :P

I've driven 15,000kms since purchase and haven't done it yet. Not sure when the last UEC was.

I think the standard service interval is about 12500kms. So an extra couple thousand k's shouldn't hurt.
