Alright so I've bought a second car, but it doesn't have an engine or rego so it needs to be trailered back home, and to the tuner whenever it gets an engine dropped in it. I'm going to use my 2.5L auto '04 Liberty for this, and need to know what i'm going to need, where to get it and approximate prices. All info appreciated.

Transmission cooler, towbar, stiffer springs perhaps. Add anything else to the list, please.

You'll be towing the car around a bit once it's finished too though, won't you?

I'd check the towing capacity of the car before spending too much dosh on it!

Track days, tuner, events if I keep it looking decent. So yes, it would be far easier to use the Liberty than hire a vehicle every time it needs to go somewhere.

1500 I believe. A stripped shell weighs nothing close. Even with an engine and gearbox, it'll still have no interior, sound deadening etc

Dont forget to take into account the weight of the trailer. A good trailer (With brakes i hope) will weigh a few hundred kilos.
Every little bit of shit adds up.

Had an electric brake controller in the OBK when we towed the horse float with it.

May be something to consider. Depending on your trailer!

How much do you reckon the car and trailer will weigh? I've towed a 1400kg boat with my manual when it had stock springs and it didn't sag enough to need stiffer springs, it was a very slow trip though.

Get the BIGGEST trans cooler you can fit.

Definitely. Big trans cooler and a strong, properly installed towbar. The cooler will help out even when not towing so it's a good mod anyway.

Micheal South tow's his 04 STi rally car with his stock gen3 rx wagon. But he built his trailer to be light it's all a pretty tight fit.
