Hows the storm recovery going?

Recovery is pretty slow, but should get back into it on Sunday. Done about seven truck loads so far.

We're carting it a short distance, it doesn't leave the property. Also, because a lot of it is green it's quite springy so we can't really stack it up too much. I'll try and get a photo of the pile when the sun comes up.


All the biggest stuff is gone, except one patch, but the rest is fiddly and will be harder to get too.

I can't see it being more than four or five more loads in that truck, but will take at least a full day.

Yeah, I also understand that. I think the Wattle is a bit dodgy to burn anyway, the river gum should go OK. I have gas fireplaces, so zero 's are given on this day.

I think I might have missed lighting it this year, depends on the weather from here out, but I have the sinking feeling that it will be a next year bonfire.

Putting all that fresh stuff on there kind of killed the dream I'm afraid. We'll see what the sun does over the next week or so, but lighting it now would just be a smouldering mess.
